Chris Student, a defenseman who helpled lead Benilde-St. Margaret's to a third-place finish at the state Class AA tournament as a senior in 2008, has transferred from Northeastern to the University of Minnesota.

Student will be practicing with the Gophers but will have to sit out the season before being eligible to play.
