There are plenty of significant games on the slate this week, but the Edina Holiday Classic will be the center of focus this weekend as four teams ranked in the Class 2A coaches' poll play in back-to-back matchups over three nights at Braemar Arena.

Northern power fifth-ranked Grand Rapids joins No. 12 Elk River, No. 1 Eden Prairie and No. 6 Edina in the round-robin showcase.

Elsewhere, No. 4-2A Blaine and No. 2-2A Benilde-St. Margaret’s meet in a battle of unbeaten teams, No. 10-2A Bemidji and No. 7-1A East Grand Forks fight for control of the Mariucci Conference, No. 7-2A Wayzata heads west to face No. 13-2A Holy Family Catholic in a strong nonconference matchup, and No. 6-1A St. Cloud Cathedral will try to slow down No. 2-1A Breck.

In Duluth, Marshall takes on No. 3-2A East, while rivalry games play out in the South Suburban Conference, where No. 14-2A Prior Lake takes on nemesis Burnsville, and in the Wright County Conference, as No. 9-1A Delano travels to up-and-coming Hutchinson.

However, our choice for the Top Game of the Week is Thursday's contest between two storied programs, with the Hornets and the Thunderhawks meet in a throwback matchup at the Holiday Classic.
