Collins, Webert turn in three-point efforts to lead BSM.

Alex Webert had a team season-high three assists in the win over Lakeville North.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Joe Collins scored a pair of goals and Alex Webert had three assists as the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity opened the Sports Authority Holiday Classic with a 7-0 win over Lakeville North.

It took a while for the Red Knights to get unwound as Jake Leonard's goal, four minutes, 23 seconds into the contest, was all they could muster in the opening period.

It didn't take BSM long to get going in the second period, however, as Max Jablonski scored just 1:51 into the stanza to begin a four-goal run, which saw Dylan Hoen, Lukas Metcalfe and Collins score in the first 10 minutes of the middle frame.

Cole Anderson's goal, 66 seconds into the third period, sent the game into running time and Collins, with 3:01 to play, finished the scoring with his team-leading ninth goal of the season.

The Red Knights dominated virtually every phase of the game, outshooting Lakeville North, 35-11 while winning 25 of 44 faceoffs.

Peyton Melin was seldom tested but made 11 saves to record his second shutout of the season.

Tomorrow, BSM faces Elk River in a 2:30 p.m. contest on the SLP Rec Center's East Rink.
