Collins records hat trick to lead BSM junior varsity.

ST. LOUIS PARK -- Benilde-St. Margaret's scored four times in the first period and Joe Collins record his second hat trick of the season as the Red Knights junior varsity posted a 6-0 win over Chanhassen in the teams' first Metro West Conference game of the season.

BSM dominated the first period, scoring on four of 10 shots while limiting the Storm to just five shots on goal.

James Norkosky opened the scoring just two minutes, 18 seconds into the game and Collins scored the first of his three goals just 39 seconds later.

Collins made it a 3-0 game with 4:51 to play in the opening frame before Caelan Woog scored for the first time this season, with 1:59 to play in the period.

The Red Knights would get just one goal in each of the next two periods despite outshooting Chanhassen, 22-8, over the final 30 minutes.

BSM's lone goal of the second period came with 4:05 on the clock as Michael McNeil's shot from the right point, on the power play, found its way through traffic and into the top-right corner of the net.

Collins then completed his hat trick, and sent the game into running time, with 5:31 to play, scoring his 15th goal of the season.

Alex Brigino made 13 saves in the game as the Red Knights held a 32-13 advantage in shots on goal for the game. For Brigino, it was his sixth win of the season and third shutout.

BSM rounds out this week's schedule when it plays its third game in five days, Saturday, hosting Bloomington Jefferson in a 5 p.m. game at the SLP Rec Center.
