Benilde-St. Margaret's capped off an unbeaten regular season with a 5-2 comeback win over St. Louis Park on Saturday night.
The Red Knights (24-0-1), ranked No. 1 in Class 2A by Let's Play Hockey, were without leading scorer and Mr. Hockey finalist Cade Gleekel, and trailed 2-1 after the second period.
But Benilde-St. Margaret's came out blazing in the third period, as Zach Risteau, Jack Qualen and Auggie Moore each scored goals less than two minutes apart to put the Red Knights up for good and close out an unbeaten regular season.
The lone game not in the win column for Benilde-St. Margaret's came on Dec. 28, when defending Class 2A state champion Lakeville North tied the Red Knights 4-4 at the Sports Authority Holiday Hockey Classic in St. Louis Park.
