Red Knights roll past Orioles in season finale.

ST. LOUIS PARK -- After scoring just one goal over the course of seven periods, the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity scored six goals in its final two periods of the season and rolled past St. Louis Park, 6-1, in the season finale for both teams.

Despite a 15-3 advantage in shots on goal in the game's first 15 minutes, the Red Knights were unable to best Oriole goalie Atticus Raasch as the teams entered the first intermission in a scoreless tie.

Raasch would keep the home team off the scoreboard until the eight minute, 19 second mark of the second period when Jerome Newhouse's power-play goal ended a 94:04 scoring drought for BSM.

The Red Knights would then take a 2-0 lead into the second intermission following Joe Collins' goal with 1:51 to play in the middle stanza.

BSM then scored twice early in the final period, including Jake Leonard's goal 39 seconds into the stanza, with Lukas Metcalfe give the Red Knights a 4-0 lead less than four minutes later.

St. Louis Park finally broke through with 8:02 to play in the game when Blake Neudecker scored on the power play but Max Jablonski responded less than a minute later with a short-handed tally and, with nine seconds to play, Luke Coughlin finished the scored by notching a power-play goal.

BSM had a 43-9 advantage in shots on goal for the game with Alex Brigino making eight saves to record his team-leading 11th win of the season.

The Red Knights have concluded their season, posting an 18-5-2 record on the season.
