Wayzata’s opening-round game against Maple Grove in its annual Turkey Trot tournament has been moved to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, so it doesn’t directly conflict with the Trojans’ state Class 5A championship football game against Rosemount.
Wayzata’s matchup against Rosemount is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Metrodome. The Trojans’ hockey opener against Maple Grove had been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Plymouth Ice Center in Plymouth before the time was moved up.
Wayzata will play Maple Grove on Rink A at the Plymouth Ice Center. In the tournament’s other first-round game, Edina will play Buffalo on Rink C, also at 5 p.m.
Edina, the defending state Class 2A champion, is ranked No. 1, Wayzata No. 4 and Maple Grove No. 13 in the Hockey Hub’s Season Guidebook “Encyclopedia.”
The Turkey Trot tournament will conclude on Saturday, Nov. 27, with the semifinal losers meeting at 5 p.m. and the semifinal winners squaring off in the title game at 7:30 p.m. at Plymouth Ice Center.
