ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Hill-Murray scored three times in the second period, including twice on the power play, and cruised to a 7-2 win over Benilde-St. Margaret's.
The 14th-ranked Pioneers got a hat trick from Brock Bremer, including the game's first two goals, which came with 24 seconds remaining in the first period and 2:33 into the second period.
Despite being outshot 19-9 in the first two period, the Red Knights remained within striking distance of their guests until Mike Fleischhacker scored with 6:57 to play in the middle stanza and Emmet Nath's power-play goal with 1:01 to play sent the Pioneers into the second intermission with a 4-0 lead.
BSM showed some life when Ian Bahr collected his first goal as a Red Knight by jamming home a loose puck on the power play, at 5:46 of the final period, but Kyle Yeo answered for Hill-Murray with a power-play goal 1:36 later.
Peter Moran would get his fourth goal of the season with 5:35 to play when he scored on a rebound but the Pioneers got that goal back when Weston Neubauer scored with 1:02 remaining in the game.
BSM was outshot 31-17, which included an 11-3 margin on the power play, with Zach Everett stopping 24 shots.
Next up for the Red Knights is the first of two scheduled meetings with No. 1 Eden Prairie. The teams are slated to meet Saturday, at 7 p.m., at the Eden Prairie Community Center.
Nate Clark blocked three shots and was plus one against the Pioneers.
