ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's scored six first-period goals, in a span of 11 minutes and 28 seconds, and went onto a 9-1 junior varsity win over Hopkins.

The Red Knights scored those six goals while out-shooting their guests, 19-3, in the opening 15 minutes, with Matthew Kocourek opening things with a power-play goal at 2:26.

Charlie Bischel made it a 2-0 game with another power-play goal just over two minutes later before the real surge began.

Everett Palmer helped ignite things as he set up Jack Rigley's goal at the 8:21 mark and then scored two goals of his own just 19 seconds apart, before James Norkosky closed the first-period scored with 1:06 to play in the opening frame.

Bischel added his second goal of the game midway through the second period, giving BSM a seven-goal lead, before Hopkins' Will Broderson struck for the visitors.

James Norkosky scored twice and added an assist in BSM's win over Hopkins.

With running time in effect for the third period, BSM did not add another goal until 6:59 remained in the game when Norkosky struck for his second goal and, with 6:05 to play, Alex Webert scored his first goal of the season to round out the scoring.

The Red Knights were 3-for-7 on the power-play, recording 12 of their 34 shots on goal while playing with the man advantage.

BSM will conclude its pre-Christmas schedule, Tuesday, when they travel to Woodbury for a mid-week matinee, facing off with the Royals at 3 pm at the Bielenberg Sports Center.
