BSM JV suffers 5-1 loss to Wayzata

Red Knight junior varsity falters, falls to Trojans.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Everett Palmer accounted for Benilde-St. Margarets' lone goal but, after he cut Wayzata's lead to one goal, the Trojans responded with three goals to claim a 5-1 win in junior varsity action.

Wayzata had taken a 2-0 lead in the opening period before Palmer scored his first goal as a Red Knight, five minutes, 24 seconds into the second period, cutting the Trojans' lead in half.

Despite the efforts of goalie Jack Sawyer, who stopped 28 shots overall, the Trojans scored three times on eight third-period shots on goal, inclduing an empty-net goal with 17 seconds to play to seal the victory.

Up next for BSM is a Saturday matinee at Holy Family, with opening faceoff slated for noon.
