Duluth East tips Eden Prairie in overtime

• DULUTH EAST 4, EDEN PRAIRIE 3 (OT): Dom Toninato excels on the power play. The junior forward scored his second power-play goal 52 seconds into overtime, giving the Class 2A, No. 3 Greyhounds a victory over the top-ranked Eagles in a marquee nonconference matchup on Saturday afternoon in Duluth. Toninato has 14 goals on the season, five on the power play. Eden Prairie’s Kyle Rau scored two third-period goals, the last unassisted with 2:51 left to tie it at three. The Eagles outshot Duluth East 32-14.
• EASTVIEW 3, PRIOR LAKE 3 (OT): Senior Max Smith’s power-play goal with 5 minutes, 41 seconds remaining in the third period helped the Lightning salvage a tie with the Lakers in the South Suburban.
• LAKEVILLE SOUTH 5, APPLE VALLEY 2: Junior center Justin Kloos scored two goals and added two assists as the Cougars skated past the Eagles in the South Suburban.
• ST. LOUIS PARK 9, IRONDALE 2: Senior captain Brookes Patterson scored two of his three goals, including one short-handed, in the first period when the Orioles scored four times in beating the Knights in North Suburban action. He also had an assist in the first period.
