Class 2A
Class 2A boasts a new No. 1-ranked team for the second consecutive week after Eden Prairie (12-4-2) earned the top slot with 10 first-place votes in the state coaches' poll.
After toppling then-No. 1-ranked Stillwater on Hockey Day Minnesota, the Eagles rolled over Lake Conference foe Wayzata, 8-2. Six Eden Prairie skaters had multiple points in the game, including Hunter Johannes (2 goals, 2 assists) and Minnesota recruit Casey Mittelstadt (4 assists).
The Eagles have outscored their opponents 24-8 in third periods and give up just 1.75 goals per game. The remaining ranked opponents on their schedule are No. 14-2A Minnetonka and No. 2-2A Edina.
Sixth-ranked Hill-Murray (14-2-4) relinquished the top spot in the poll after just one week. As the No. 1 ranked team, the Pioneers lost 2-0 to No. 11-2A Maple Grove, beat Simley 9-0 and tied Wayzata 2-2.
Edina, Elk River and Holy Family Catholic benefited most from Hill-Murray's rough week. Edina (14-5-1) climbed from fourth to second in the rankings after beating No. 8-2A Centennial, Minnetonka and Hopkins by a combined score of 22-6. Eden Prairie and Minnetonka are the only top-20 ranked opponents remaining on the Hornets' schedule.
Stillwater (16-3-0) remained ranked No. 3. Since falling to Eden Prairie on Jan. 21, the Ponies defeated Mahtomedi 5-2 and Park of Cottage Grove 4-1 before losing to No. 7-2A Lakeville North 3-2.
Minnetonka (11-8-0) surrendered the No. 13 spot to Moorhead (14-3-3) after losing back-to-back games to Edina (6-3) and No. 5 Holy Family Catholic (3-2). The No. 14-ranked Skippers face Eden Prairie twice and Edina before the end of the regular season.
Moorhead is 8-0-2 in its last 10 games and faces three teams ranked ninth or better (including No. 6-1A East Grand Forks) in its last five games.
Burnsville jumped from No. 18 to No. 15 after beating Lakeville North 5-2.

The Hawks took advantage of a soft spot in the schedule, beating Proctor and Virginia/Mountain Iron-Buhl by a combined score of 13-0. The toughest tests remaining on their schedule are No. 7-1A Mahtomedi and No. 9-1A Hibbing/Chisholm.
Delano (17-2-1) remained No. 3 in the coaches' poll after beating Mound Westonka and Orono by a combined score of 18-2.
