Prowlers place third, take some hardware home

State tournemant trophy adds to Thief River Falls tradition

After frustrating and occasionally heart-breaking losses during the semifinals of the state tournament, teams often struggle amping up the intensity to play in the third place game.

For Thief River Falls, players needed to rebound after losing 5-0 to St. Thomas Acadmey and playing at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, probably didn't help either.

The Prowlers managed to surpress the anguish of the semifinal defeat and found the energy they needed to defeat Hibbing/Chisholm 3-0 to take home the Class 1A third place trophy.
