Goaltenders often struggle to come up with the perfect design for their equipment.
Choices range from something as simple as deciding on the right colors for pads or as complex as choosing between a 'brickwall' or 'old-school' design for their custom painted hockey mask.
That said, ribbons are rarely in the repertoire as front runners for equipment decor and pink is not the most popular choice either.
For Blaine junior goaltender Nick Malvin, the choice for his equipment design was an easy one and it included pink ribbons.
Pink 'Find the Cure' ribbons honoring his mother's fight with breast cancer, to be exact.
