ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- St. Thomas scored twice in the second period and spoiled Benilde-St. Margarets' home opener with a 3-1 win.
The Cadets got on the scoreboard just one minute, 56 seconds into the game but the Red Knights' countered with a Will Thompson power-play tally less than five minutes later.
Will Herzog set up the go-ahead goal in the second period for St. Thomas and added a power-play goal in the middle of the period and BSM could not recover.
Cavan Slocum made 24 saves in goal for the Red Knights, who return to action, Thursday, with a 5 p.m. game at Wayzata.
