Mankato East 1, Mound Westonka 1, OT. It was a battle of defense as goaltenders Jack Cusey of the Cougars and the White Hawks’ Noah Coley were near perfect and refused to give up an overtime goal. Cusey made 22 saves while Coley stopped 23 shots, and neither goalie gave up a goal until the second half of the third period. The Cougars’ Parker Steindl broke the scoreless tie on a power play but Torsten Lee of the White Hawks responded less than four minutes later.
Maple Grove 5, Elk River 3. Trevor Kukkonen led the Crimson offense, scoring three goals in their win over the Elks. Crimson goalie Ethan Haider made 30 saves. Griffin Young recorded two goals and an assist for the Elks as Kyle Esperum made 10 saves.
Eastview 5, Farmington 2. Luke Barron led the Lightning offense with two goals as nine other Lightning registered one point. Lightning goaltender Ben Beattie was perfect through two periods before Tiger forward Zach Willis found the back of the net on the power play to get the Tigers on the board early in the third period. Beattie stopped 26 shots while Tiger goaltender Tyler Block made 20 saves.
Delano 5, Minneapolis 2. Four Tigers recorded two points in the win over Minneapolis, as Jack Paulson notched two power-play goals and Justin Daly scored twice at even strength. Tiger goaltender Jackson Hjelle made 13 saves in the win. Tommy Walsh stopped 17 shots for Minneapolis.
Hopkins 6, Rogers 2. Henry Sweeney scored three goals and added an assist to lead Hopkins’ offense. Only one of Sweeney’s points was on the power play. Hopkins goaltender Ethan Myers made 16 saves in the win. Cal Levis and Dylan Timm recorded the goals for Rogers, as Nathaniel Johnston stopped 25 shots.
Minnetonka 11, Bloomington Jefferson 1. Twelve Skippers found their way onto the scoresheet, with Teddy Lagerback leading the offense with three goals and one assist. Joe Molenaar also recorded a hat trick in the win. Goaltender Cam Smrekar made 16 saves, only allowing Tristan Larson of the Jaguars to score late in the third period with 1:06 remaining on the clock. Jaguar goaltender Evan Redepenning made 40 saves.
