Gardiner leaves Gophers

Former Minnetonka standout will play junior hockey next season

Max Gardiner, the former Minnetonka standout who played sparingly for the University of Minnesota last seasons, is leaving the Gophers to play junior hockey, according to the team's website.

Gardiner was recently drafted by the USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints.
