Four state high schoolers make under-17 national team

Brodzinski, Gross, Labosky and Lettieri will play in Five Nations tournament

Four players from Minnesota high school programs are on the under-17 U.S. select team that will play in the Five Nations tournament Aug. 9-13 in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Defensemen Mike Brodzinski of Blaine and Jordan Gross of Maple Grove will be joined by forwards Dan Labosky of Benilde-St. Margaret's and Vinni Lettieri of Minnetonka.

They were picked from a development camp held in Rochester, N.Y.,  last week. Minnesota with five is the state with the most players on the 22-player roster. California has four.

A fifth Minnesota player, defenseman Willie Raskob of Hastings, played at Shattuck-St. Mary's last season.

Other teams in the tournament are the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Switzerland.
