Top games: Perennial state contender Moorhead faces top-ranked Minnetonka in a Class 2A tussle

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.






Other games to keep an eye on

Orono vs. Chaska, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m. No. 8-1A Orono (3-2, 1-0) gets a chance to boost its resume against a quality Class 2A opponent in Chaska (3-3, 0-0), which sits just outside the top-10 rankings. Both teams have been challenged in the season's opening weeks, and the winner gets a quality nonconference win.

South St. Paul vs. Hill-Murray, Thursday, Dec. 13, 7 p.m. The Packers (2-1-1, 1-1-1) have been uneven out of the gate and look to gain traction against a tough opponent in No. 8-2A Hill-Murray (3-1-0, 2-0-0).

Grand Rapids vs. Eden Prairie, Friday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m. Grand Rapids (3-3-0) has faced a brutal schedule early, which includes this showdown with No. 6-2A Eden Prairie (2-1-1).
