As underdogs go, Hastings was a pretty big one entering the championship game of the South St. Paul Premier Tournament Friday.

"In years past we would come into this tournament and people would count us out," said Raiders forward Jager Kendall. "I would bet they did that this year, too.

"But we shocked them."

And it was Kendall who flipped the switch, scoring with 5 minutes, 29 seconds left in regulation to lift Hastings to a 4-3 victory over Eagan, resulting in the Raiders' first tournament title after advancing to the championship game for the first time since back-to-back appearances in 1995-96.
