Quick, five-goal outburst turns tables on Jefferson.

ST. LOUIS PARK -- After trailing 3-0 through the game's first 26 minutes, Benilde-St. Margaret's tied the game with three goals in a span of two minutes, 46 seconds late in the second period and then scored twice in the first three minutes of the third period en route to an 8-4 junior varsity win over Bloomington Jefferson.

The Jaguars were in control of the game and appeared ready to enter the second intermission with the game in hand.

A goalie change, which saw Jack Olson replace Simon Goodmanson, with 5:54 to play in the second period, seemed to have an effect on the Red Knights, who did not allow a shot on goal the remainder of the period.

BSM finally got on the scoreboard with 3:54 to play in the second period when Jake Runman scored his first goal as a Red Knight.

The Red Knights tied the game with 1:08 to play in the middle frame when Logan Lyke and Aiden Wahlstrom scored goals just 17 seconds apart.

Coming out of the intermission, BSM didn't let up.

Mason Baldwin's shot from the left point found the back of the net 1:38 into the final period to give the Red Knights their first lead of the game and Ian Thorstenson followed with the eventual game winner 1:17 later.

Aiden Wahlstrom had his first multiple-goal game since the season opener, Nov. 27.

Jefferson put a momentary halt on the Red Knights' run when Reed Ringquist cut the lead to 5-4 but Lyke restored the two-goal lead with his team-leading eight goal of the season.

BSM then seal the win with goals by Brady Giertsen and Wahlstrom, less than a minute apart, in the game's final two minutes.

After failing to score a goal on its first 23 shots on goal through the game's first 26:54, BSM scored on eight of its final 17 shots, finishing the game with a 40-32 advantage in shots on goal.

Simon Goodmanson made 18 saves before giving way to Olson, who stopped 10 of 11  shots over the games final 20:54.

Wahlstrom's two-goal gave him a three-point night, as he also assisted on Thorstenson's game-winning goal. Brady Giertsen, with a goal and two assists, and Nic Dokman, with three assists, also turned in three-point performances as 12 of the Red Knights' 15 skates recorded points.

BSM is now off for a week before returning to action next Thursday for a 5 p.m. game at home versus Lakeville North.
