We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Editor's note: With school districts postponing games due to weather, some of the games we selected to highlight will not be played as scheduled.

Other games to keep an eye on

Becker-Big Lake vs. Pine City, Thursday, Jan. 31, 7 p.m. Becker-Big Lake (9-10-1, 4-4-0) lost 6-1 in the first meeting against Pine City (10-8-2, 7-1-0), but has the firepower (3.80 goals per game) to change the outcome this go-round. The Dragons are on a roll, going 7-2-1 in January, with a win and a draw in that stretch against teams ahead of it in Class 1A, Section 5.

Maple Grove vs. Andover, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2 p.m. No. 5-2A Maple Grove (14-3-1, 6-2-0) has work to do if it wants a Northwest Suburban Conference North Division title and a win over No. 2-2A Andover (17-2-1, 6-1-1) would help the Crimson stay within striking distance of division leader Blaine. The Huskies won the first meeting 4-1 on Jan. 10.
