Blaine extends win streak to 13 after defeating Champlin Park

Blaine extended its winning streak to 13 consecutive games Thursday when it beat Champlin Park 4-2. The streak started on Jan. 3 when the Bengals, ranked No. 3 in the Class 2A state coaches’ poll, toppled Anoka 5-0.

Blaine extended its win streak to 13 games after beating Champlin Park 4-2 on Thursday.

Champlin Park (18-6-0, 10-2-0) responded quickly after Hillman’s second goal. About a minute later, Derek Roberts reduced the Bengals lead to one.

Cam Shoberg hit a shot from distance to put Blaine (18-2-2, 8-1-1) up 3-1 giving it a two-goal advantage heading into the first intermission.

Cole Hansen scored unassisted in the second period, to make the game 4-1. The Bengals had 13 more shots in the period. Champlin Park goaltender Brennan Boynton, who finished with 40 saves, held Blaine to just one goal in the second.

Roberts claimed his second goal of the game for the Rebels with eight minutes remaining.

Blaine's Joe Daninger made 18 saves.
