George Pelawa, a Mr. Hockey winner from Bemidji who was selected in the first round of the 1986 NHL draft by the Calgary Flames, was 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds -- an unstoppable force on the hockey rink.
Pelawa, who was set to play at the University of North Dakota, died on Aug. 30, 1986, in a car crash.
