Alexander Brigino stopped 14 shots to earn his first shutout of the season.
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- The Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity opened the home portion of its 2015-16 schedule in style as Michael McNeil scored twice and Alexander Brigino recorded his first shutout of the season in a 6-0 win over Woodbury.
The two teams battled through the first period, in which the Red Knights grabbed a 1-0 lead on Matthew Kocourek's goal seven minutes, 58 seconds into the game.
A five-goal second period would put the game away for BSM and, early in the frame, they jumped on Woodbury with three goals in a span of less than three minutes.
The scoring spree started 2:33 into the middle period with McNeil's power-goal and was followed, 44 seconds later by a Cole Anderson tally.
McNeil would then score his second goal at the 5:31 to give the hosts a 4-0 lead.
Max Jablonski made it a 5-0 game with 4:06 to play and Lukas Metcalfe recorded his third point of the night when he rounded out the scoring with 1:14 to play in the second period.
Next up for the Red Knights is Friday's home game with Eden Prairie. Opening faceoff at the St. Louis Park Rec Center is slated for 5 p.m.
