Notes, quotes from Day 3

The Quote

“I think we’re all aware of [the streak]. We’re all excited to play and hopefully get that off our backs.”

— Hermantown senior forward Cole Koepke

THREE STARS

1. Casey Mittelstadt, Eden Prairie: The junior either set up or scored each of the Eagles’ first five goals, finishing with a hat trick as he repeatedly raced around and through the Grand Rapids defense.

2. Alex Schilling, Wayzata: The last line of Wayzata’s staunch defense was perfect until the final minute Friday, enough time for the Trojans to build a two-goal lead. He stopped 20 of 21 Stillwater shots, including a point-blank attempt to prevent a last-second tie.

3. Logan Judnick, Hermantown: The first of his two goals, scored early in the second period, gave Hermantown a 4-1 lead and sunk a listing St. Paul Academy team.
