Ely 2, Moose Lake Area 1, OT. Eighth grader Joe Pierce scored the game-winning goal 1:12 into overtime to lead Ely over Moose Lake. The goal was his 14th of the season, ranking second on the team. Ely’s Lori Huseby made 20 saves in the win, while Logan McNulty of Moose Lake stopped 32 shots.

New Prague 1, Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 1, OT. Goaltenders Collin Dorzinski and Jerrod Niska were nearly perfect, each letting in just one goal and stopping all shots in the extra frame to battle to a 1-1 tie. New Prague’s Dorzinski made 45 saves, while Niska of Litchfield/Dassel-Coato made 23. Grant Yackly scored New Prague’s goal, his second of the season, and Brandt Pedersen scored his 19th for Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato.

Mound Westonka 5, Waconia 3. Torsten Lee and Michael Niederer each tallied three points to lead the Red Hawks over the Wildcats. Lee, who leads the Red Hawks in goals (16) this season, recorded two goals and an assist. Niederer added to his team-leading assist (33) and point (46) totals, adding a helper on each of Mound Westonka’s first three goals. Noah Coley stopped 10 shots for the Red Hawks, while Trevor Rowe made 14 saves for Waconia.

Bemidji 5, Thief River Falls 0. Alex Pollock tallied three second period points to lead Bemidji, scoring two goals and adding an assist, all on the power play. Bemidji’s power play went 4-for-8. Bemidji senior Carson Olson made 16 saves for his second shutout of the season. Brandon Mack and Nick Corneliusen split goaltending duties for Thief River Falls, stopping a combined 26 shots.

St. Paul Johnson 7, Detroit Lakes 2. St. Paul Johnson got all the scoring they needed just 1:22 into the game, putting three goals on the board in that span. Tommy Heesch scored two goals and Luke Heffernan added three points to lead the Governors. Heffernan’s points came by way of one goal and two assists. St. Paul Johnson’s Ezra Weintzweig stopped 12 shots, while Ben Boomgaarden of Detroit Lakes made 26 saves.

Luverne 7, Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter 0. Junior Kasyn Kruse recorded a hat trick and an assist to lead Luverne to the win. Kruse’s second goal came midway through the second period on a shorthanded opportunity. Nick Harder also contributed four points for the Cardinals, scoring two goals and added two assists. Daniel Tofteland was perfect for Luverne, stopping all 18 shots he faced. Andrew Regner made 42 saves for the Bulldogs.
