St. Michael-Albertville 5, Buffalo 3. The No. 2-seeded Knights beat its rival, Buffalo, for a third time this season, ending the No. 7 Bison's season in a Class 2A, Section 8 quarterfinal by scoring four unanswered goals to open the game. Val Popowski and Luc Laylin both tallied a goal and an assist, while Tyler Braccini scored two goals for Buffalo. Minnesota commit Jake Braccini netted a goal for the Bison.

International Falls 3, Duluth Denfeld 2 (2OT).  Sophomore Kian Gonzales netted the game-winner in double overtime to help fifth-seeded International Falls advance to the Class 1A, Section 7 final following a stellar performance in net by Broncos goalie Jake Klow. Klow stopped 20 straight shots through the third period and double overtime and finished with 43 saves. Trevor Becvar and Simon Palm tallied assists on each others' second-period goals, while No. 4 Duluth Denfeld found goals from Jacob Eskola  and Luke Eilefson. Klow didn't allow a goal for the final 54 minutes of the game.

Moorhead 12, Rogers 0. Defending Class 2A, Section 8 champion and state runner-up, top-seeded Moorhead, opened the postseason in dominant fashion, scoring seven second-period goals against No. 8 Rogers. Carter Randklev and Tommy Horan netted three goals apiece, while Parker Dronen and Parker Larson dished four assists. Lance Leonard made nine saves for his fourth shutout in five games (he leads the state with nine). Royals goalie Nathaniel Johnston stopped 40 of 46 shots.

Minnehaha Academy 8, Red Wing 1. Cole Knutson netted a pair of first-period goals to give No. 6-seeded Minnehaha Academy a lead it never gave up in a Class 1A, Section 4 play-in game. Knutson added two more goals and an assist for five points, while fellow Redhawk Reed Bartelings had a goal and four assists. Cam Blue scored No. 11 Red Wing's only goal. Minnehaha Academy will face No. 3 Simley on Thursday.

Roseville 3, Woodbury 1. Riley Sundeen and John Tschida's third-period goals clinched No. 8-seeded Roseville a win into the Class 2A, Section 4 quarterfinals. Adam King added an empty-net goal with two seconds left in the game. Jordan Oleson netted No. 9 Woodbury's lone goal. The Raiders face top-seeded White Bear Lake on Saturday.
